Trip to Taiwan!

A totally impulsive decision led me to visit Taipei for three days.

Be Spirited Away at Jiufen Old Street

Sometime in January, two of my officemates (who entered the company the same time as I did) pm'ed me in the office if I have been to Taiwan. I said no, and I thought that was the end of that. A few hours later, we have already booked our flight to Taiwan set on an April weekend for a three-day, three-nights' stay, since there was a seat sale on Air Asia that day.

I decided to spend the remaining months before the trip saving money, which was a bit hard considering that I was also spending for cosplay and anime merch.  (; ̄д ̄)

I also went and applied for a single-entry visa costing PHP 2,400.00 ($48), which was a bummer since it was recently announced that Filipinos may enter Taiwan visa-free starting June. ಠ_ಠ

We have also finalized our Taiwan itinerary a week or two before our flight. We decided to spend the first day exploring the sights in Taipei, and the next two days to other tourist spots outside of Taipei.

As for our accommodations, we decided to try out booking an Airbnb, and found Ada's Place which had a very good location near the Daqiaotou MRT Station! It also has three convenient stores nearby as well as a Bank of Taiwan branch within walking distance.

Another must-have item for our trip is the wifi. Without it, we might've ended up more lost in Taipei, since some of the translator apps we have also needs internet to work.We found out online that you can rent pocket wifis in Taipei where you can pick up and drop off the gadget in Taoyuan International Airport or in any convenient store. It also has a very reasonable price!

I decided to cut this blog into three parts since I think it might end up too long trying to cram it to one post. \(T∇T)/
